1999 - The largest bootleg music bust in US history was made.  It was estimated that one operation was responsible for $100 million in lost revenues.  Recording equipment estimated at $250,000 was confiscated along with almost 1 million CDs and tapes.

2005 - 77-years old Fats Domino was rescued from his home in New Orleans because of flooding due to Hurricane Katrina.  He had earlier told his agent he was staying in his home despite the order to evacuate.
